1-on-1 Academic Tutoring ($50/hr)

Whatever your student needs, I'm here for it! We can complete homework together, write and edit essays, take notes, study for tests, learn French for class or for fun, or work on organization and time management plans. All my tutoring is strengths-based and designed to help your student build confidence and independence. No one's learning profile is exactly the same, so we will try a variety of techniques and practices to find what works best in building an academic toolbox. My overall goal is to make our sessions fun, low-stress, and empowering.

Please see purple page for list of subjects taught.

Looking for the benefits of 1-on-1 tutoring as well as practicing classroom and social skills? Small group tutoring may be for you! Classmates can collaboratively work on assignments in a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere, or groups from different classes/schools can focus on any of the subjects on the purple page, like math fact fluency or French.

Have you ever wanted to learn to knit? Does sewing or altering clothes pique your interest? Do you like cross stitch and embroidery? Want to foster your green thumb with gardening? What about baking bread or cookies? We can do that online, too! I practice a variety of domestic arts and simply love passing these skills down to the next generation or to anyone who wants to learn.

Please note: we will discuss logistics and safety expectations for any potentially dangerous projects.

About Me

Hi, I'm Lucie, and I'm glad you're here! I earned my Bachelor's degree in French language and literature from Skidmore College, as well as my Master's in secondary education from CUNY Hunter College.

I have taken many continuing ed courses from Landmark Outreach focusing on students with learning differences, including ADHD, Executive Dysfunction, Language-Based Learning Disabilities like dyslexia, and how these challenges manifest in English Language Learners. I also have extensive experience and a passion for supporting students with mental health concerns and trauma histories.

As a student, I dealt with executive dysfunction, anxiety, and inattentiveness, so I know how hard and unpleasant learning can be without skilled, compassionate academic support. I greatly enjoy helping students find their strengths, as well as tools that will help them succeed inside and outside the classroom.
